Would you call that thrash? It's not quite metalcore, even though all the musicians (that I recognize) are from metalcore bands.

Hard to say. It's not straight metalcore, but it ain't pure thrash either. Maybe thrash/crossover? It seems to inhabit the same music space as Black Breath, and that's how BB is tagged on MA.

Just checked -- that's how ADM are labeled on MA as well.

Bleh. Crossover is the slipstream of metal.

*ha* I'm trying to come up with the genre-lit equivalent for metalcore. Joe Abercrombie, maybe?

Scott Lynch? Though he's more power metal, maybe.

I was going to say "Steven Erikson," but then I realized that he's the book equivalent of Blind Guardian. But yeah, Scott Lynch might work. Or possibly JK Rowling for taking a genre and making it as commercially successful as it can be.

But what genre lit element harnesses suburban angst while simultaneously degrading a more pure and noble element of the genre? Maybe... the Yeard?
