Oct. 22nd, 2009 10:38 amTLA Video is shutting down their flagship store at 4th and South. Bummer. TLA gave me my first job here in Philly and I worked for them for *mumble* years before I finally moved on to greener pastures. "My" store is the one at 15th and Locust, and that one's still (barely) limping along, but I fear that it, too, is not long for the world.
That's sad. It's far from a perfect or perfectly-run company, and god knows I had my share of complaints about the place, but I still feel a lot of loyalty towards it.

I wasn't going to drink anything tonight, but it was Brian's and Dallis's and Lowell's birthday (they're all older this week) and so I had a single glass plastic cup of really crappy screwtop mead (from the PA renfaire winery? no less) in order to toast them. Oh man, it was bad - and now my stomach hurts and my head hurts and I am on the train home, being angry with the loud teenagers sitting behind me being all loud and teenaged.
