Hm. Death/Folk-metal band Suidakra has a song called "Balor". Could it be ASOIAF-related?

Also, can a metal band truly exist if it doesn't have an entry on Encyclopaedia Metallum?

Reading the lyrics, I am going to say "no." It's based on Irish mythology and Balor of the Evil Eye, king of the Formorians. I'm not sure how much GRRM drew upon that particular myth when writing up the history of Balor the Blessed, of course.

Huh. Their search engine must have been down last night, because I tried searching for them three ways (band name, artist, album) and nothing came up.
