We are pulled over to the side of the road and the bus driver is standing at the front of the aisle delivering a heartfelt sermon on the evils of suicide.

"I ain't preachin'. I'm just trying to make conversation. But if you do it it makes God angry, and there ain't no forgiveness for that. If it's a woman thing or a man thing, there are as many women as there are leaves on a tree. They come past all the time. Men too. It just ain't worth it."

Indeed.

And, dare I ask, what caused this little sermon?

Not that I disagree with the basic idea that you shouldn't kill yourself over a failed relationship...

No idea. Not a clue.

I can one up you: The preacher said pretty much the same thing at my sister's funeral. It was even less appropriate then!

Personally, I wouldn't call that a one-up so much as a hundred-thousand-up. As my sister is still alive despite her penchant for recreational concussive brain trauma (I call her a coma collector), I can't really compete.

Ahahaha! I love it.
