Well, it took me 90 minutes instead of 30 minutes (and a $22 cab ride instead of a $1.50 transit token) to get to work today, but I got here.

I can't afford this for long, though.

Dinner tonight was a steak (the second and last of my two delmonico cuts), french onion soup, a sort of shepherd's pie made with turkey, pork and sweet potato (and peas and regular potato), and some pears poached in port wine with a homemade chocolate creme. I was just going to do the chocolate creme, but there wasn't really enough so Marcia (roomie) and I decided to use it to top the pears I had bought today instead.

Then she taught me how to make a southern-style pan gravy using the grease from the cooking of the ground meat. Yum!
