Mar. 29th, 2010 12:45 pmI played some Magic: the Gathering on Sunday for the first time in over twelve years. I was using someone else's white deck (never my favorite color) and the rules have changed a lot in the last decade, but it was still like scratching a long-ignored itch.
I had quit for a reason, but I thought that just a couple of games to kill the time wouldn't hurt anything. Surely, twelve years would have blunted the urges. But now I'm jonesin' for booster packs, remembering what it was like to tear into one and find... who knows? A Mox? A Black Lotus? Rare foils? Yet another goddamn Anson Maddocks-illustrated Llanowar Elves card? I'm hankerin' to assemble a deck and go down to my FLGS and sit down and make some thirteen year-olds cry.
Shit. I was hoping to avoid this.
