They also gifted us with a good amount of someone else's property, including a half-dozen handbags, an equal number of oogly hoodies, some shirts and a fuzzy pink bathrobe -- and that's just so far. Also, I wonder what of ours wound up in other people's deliveries?

ETA: More stuff we got that ain't ours: Pair of orange hoochie heels, pair of hiking boots, pair of Uggs, bunch of makeup, monthly planner, Mother's day card, banking documents and a copy of someone's passport. And some baby hats.

ETA2: Not baby hats. Our hats, shrunk like whoa. Apparently, restoration cleaning specialists don't know that wool shrinks? And they dried them in a blast furnace?

ETA3: Whole lot of shoes that we've never seen before. Twelve pairs and counting.

Are you going to call the cleaners and freak out? Are you going to report them to... I don't know, SOMEONE THAT WILL SHUT THEM DOWN FOR BEING ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT??

I am staggered by their botching of the job so thoroughly, and their balls in trying to charge your insurance so much money. I don't know what to say.

They really did fuck up a lot of the clothes. The knit items fared the worst, but they seem to have mangled, stained or otherwise chewed a fairly widespread selection -- not to mention the items that are missing, like one of a pair of gloves, all my belts, some T-shirts, some ties... oh, and for some reason two thirds of my socks are gone.

Plus, who do I report them to? It's not like there's a Board of Dry Cleaner Licensing that handles this kind of thing, you know?

and I know you'll document the horror with pix and lists before you go to the insurance company.

then see if you have a Consumer Affairs bureau, or maybe the AG's office.

And if I was part of social networking like Craig's list, I'd warn people about the shoddy work and destruction of many items that should have been salvageable.
