Fast hour 33: The people that tell you that you stop being hungry at 24 hours are dirty liars. I could eat a bison right now.

Fast hour 44.5: I never ever peed so much in 12 hours before. I'm sure there its some complicated metabolic reason but all I know is that I feel like one of those little decorative peeing cherubs on an italian fountain. Also, the hunger has faded to a dull background ache. I guess the bison thing was the last throes of urgent hunger signals.

I can't smell acetone on my breath, but I don't know if that's because it's not there or I've just become used to my own smell. But probably I'm just being paranoid.

Fast hour 45: OK, so lack of hunger was a false alarm. It's not a roaring burning hunger like it was in the first 36 hours, but it flares up every now and then.

I dreamed of pickled eggs in pepper gravy, fried potato casserole in a cheese crust...

Fast hour 47: I'm a little surprised it's taking this long for my body to give up all the solid waste in my system. Not to bombard you all with the details of my bowel movements, but I'm normally set-your-watch regular -- and yet, 47 hours after my last meal, it still comes.

Fast hour 47.5: Huh. Just took a hot shower and now I'm feeling all muscle-weakness and hunger and icky again. Odd. Most of that had passed sometime yesterday. Still, I feel surprisingly clearheaded. Just a little fuzziness and lightness. Wish my hands would stop shaking, though.
