I think I actually died briefly while watching that. The visible struggle for the guy to finish really adds to the whole non-appeal of the thing. (That and "tit-syrup".)
Oh man, that's crazy. Maple syrup is perfect for savory applications! A monte cristo sandwich would not be the same without it. Or maple-glazed bacon, either.
I like it better with strawberry preserves than raspberry, personally. Not bad with a blueberry-honey compote, either. But of course, none of those are as good as maple.
