So, as I have hinted to some of you previously, I will alas not be attending Worldcon this year, much to my regret. There are a couple of reasons for my shameful absence, but the most relevant one is that...

... I will be moving the weekend of August 8th! If you can read this and you're local to Philly, I'd appreciate it if you could come down and help out that Saturday, starting at around 2PM. It should be a pretty quick and easy move, since my new place is literally the other side of the block from my old place -- the backyards touch each other.

A couple of you have volunteered either your vehicles or your spouse's vehicle (I'm looking at you, glamour_junkie and kemidra), so assuming those offers are firm, it should save me having to rent a truck to drive a couple of hundred feet, which just seems silly.

Things will be packed before you arrive and with any luck we should be able to wrap things up inside of an hour or two. I'll provide beverages and lunch as is customary, and a grand time will be had by all.

If you're in, please post here -- though I may or may not also be nagging you via email.

take my word for it, rent the truck, and hire philfo to supervise the move. he moved christy out in like... literally, an hour and a half. human chain. he treated this place like a ship in port.

Remember, when moving, that moving and packing are different things. One needs to be done in advance of the other. I've been in too many situations where I've helped someone move and they didn't grasp this concept. Cramming dirty laundry into a box isn't my idea of helping someone move.

I'll help if I'm around -- I have a couple of options for that weekend that might have me out of town.

By the way, is this the place you were thinking of buying? What happened with that?

Well miss you at worldcon. Maybe i should take this opportunity to do something truly crazy since nobody will be there to retell the tale.

We still have boxes you can use. They're all broken down, but we can give you a roll of packing tape and our blessings as well. :P
