So, not having seen the original Japanese version for a long time, I always find Godzilla to be rather silly, in the "there's obviously a guy wearing a rubber suite walking around miniature model towns" sort of way.
But, my partner is a big Godzilla fan (he likes all manners of B-side SF) and we watched the original, and it was actually a very sobering tale about human hubris. Totally different from the English dubbed version, too.
So now I can tolerate the silliness that is the sequel monster fests a bit better.
So you've heard about the time a woman did a striptease and dance to this song, dressed as Godzilla, at the Palimpsest book launch, right? Or were you there? I forget.
